Around the state, winter sports practices filled every gym.
Cannon Falls and Randolph basketball, dance and wrestlings squads are trying to make the most of their time prior to competition starting in a few weeks.

Cannon Falls, Randolph winter sports start practicing Monday
Winter sports were allowed to continue on Jan. 4 around the state of Minnesota. Gym space has become a luxury as sports try to use the most of their two weeks before competition begins.
For dance teams like Cannon Falls and Randolph, they were already beginning tryouts and practices when sports were paused in late November. Now both teams have to shake and stretch the cobwebs out.
Even with masks on, many of the sports participants in Cannon Falls and Randolph were smiling on Jan. 4. Winter sports practices were allowed to resume on Monday, with teams making the most out of their two week window prior to competition beginning.

Randolph dance coaches Alexis Kimmes and Grace Dibble said in November that, “As long as everyone stays on top of how they’re feeling and making sure they keep themselves healthy, things should be O.K.” The coaches and their squad are happy to get started and make the most out of the season they have, as practices began on Jan. 4.
