Jacob Weckop is the senior starting quarterback for the Randolph Rockets football team. It is his second year at the helm of the Rocket offense, which is on a torrid pace and has scored just shy of 100 points through two games. Part of the reason for Randolph’s offensive success has been the improvement of Weckop over the past year and he also plays a significant role on a Rocket defense that has pitched two straight shutouts to start the season.

Read below from Jacob about football, his hobbies and what its like to be back playing in front of fans on the gridiron:

Q: How do you think you’ve improved from last year to this year?

JW: A lot, I’ve already passed my yards and touchdowns from last year. The main thing with that is the weight room, I live in there in the summer, you can tell that’s what’s paying off.

Q: Goals for this season?

JW: Yeah I set my goals to multiply all my stats by two.

Q: When you’re not working out, watching film, etc, what can people find you doing? What are your hobbies?

JW: I enjoy hunting, deer and duck hunting.

Q: What do you prefer to hunt, deer or duck?

JW: I like duck more, a little bit more action.

Q: Pick up any new or weird hobbies during quarantine/lockdown?

JW: Not really, no. I just golfed a lot, a lot more than I had in the past, so I kind of picked up golfing mainly.

Q: What was it like being back in front of the fans/student section?

JW: It’s awesome having all the fans here, it’s a lot different atmosphere than it was last year and I love it.
