Sharon Geraldine Flynn, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, died February 24, 2023 in Seattle, Washington. She was 86. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota September 3, 1936 to Jerry and Marion Flynn, Sharon grew up in Cannon Falls with her sister, Joan, and attended Cannon Falls High School before leaving for college and earning her degrees from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul and St. Mary’s School of Nursing, where she graduated with a psychiatric nursing emphasis and began her life-long career in the field. Sharon made the Minnetonka area her home for most of her life. A generous soul, with a warm wit, Sharon was a devoted, caring friend and a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, who enjoyed a good book, reading upwards of 20 in any given month, and a knitting challenge, making sweaters and afghans for family and friends throughout her life. Sharon also enjoyed skiing, the arts, and animals, especially her feline companions. Sharon is survived by her nephews and niece, Eric, Jim and Barbara Miller, as well as cousins throughout the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas. A Celebration of Life will be held June 29, 2023, 11 am, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 Colvill Street West, Cannon Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to an animal charity of your choice.
