Kay Molstrom

Carolyn Mae “Kay” Molstrom, age 78 of Cannon Falls, MN, died on Monday afternoon, November 15, 2021.

Carolyn Mae was born on January 11, 1943 in Rochester, MN, the daughter of Louis and Ruth (Ramsay) Frutiger. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester and went on to receive her cosmetology license and was a hairdresser for years. She later attended Red Wing Technical College, where she received her LPN degree. She worked at the local nursing home for many years, and in her retirement, enjoyed working at Ace Hardware in Cannon Falls.

Kay was an active member of Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church and was currently serving as council president. She had a strong faith and enjoyed bible study with her friends. Enjoyed card making, chocolate shakes from McDonald’s (without whipped cream!), chocolates, and her cat Blossom. She loved her family, family gatherings, her strong connection with her sister Peg, and following her precious granddaughters’ activities. She will truly be missed!

She is survived by her sons, Tony (Lisa) Price of Randolph and Matt (Patti) Price of Hastings; four granddaughters, Alicia Bonin, Abagail Bonin, Lily Price, and Corah Meier; brother, Bill Frutiger (Jean Geilow) of Houston, MN; sister, Peg Shelton of Albert Lea; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; husband, Glen Molstrom; and sister, Ruth Jasik.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 22 from 4-7 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. Interment will be at Oronoco Cemetery, Oronoco, MN.

Memorials are preferred in Kay’s memory to the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church or donor’s cancer research fund of choice.
