Harold Orville Lund, age 87 of Diamond Bluff, WI and formerly of Randolph, died on Wednesday evening, March 1, 2023, at Prescott Nursing & Rehab. Community.
Harold was born on September 30, 1935 in Torquay, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Harry and Minnie (Nelson) Lund. In his younger years, Harold worked as a farm hand. After leaving Canada, he came to settle in Wanamingo, MN, where he met and later married Arlene Flaten. They were married on October 8, 1955, at Holden Lutheran Church. They moved to Randolph in the 1960s. He started working in heating and air conditioning and continued this career throughout his life until retiring. Arlene died on April 25, 1994.
Harold was a self-taught accordion player and enjoyed polka and country music. He enjoyed traveling to Texas with his girlfriend, Joan, where he loved to play accordion whenever he could.
He is survived by his children, David of Hot Springs, SD, Rick of Pepin, WI, Jody of Red Wing, Lonnie of Pepin, WI, and Scarlet (Steve Wicklum) of Lakeville; his girlfriend of 26 years, Joan Markfort of Red Wing; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca (Patrick) Robinson, Jason (Sarah) Lund, Krystal (Chris) Rosenthal, Dana Lund (Nick Skogen), Hannah Walker, Melissa Bongard (Mike Christensen), Anthony (Krista) Bongard, Jesse, Lund, Cheyenne Lund (Dusty Vagt), Joseph (Brianna) Lund, Megan Morrill (Jason Admonius), and Kaitlyn (Alex) Weeks; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lois Lund of Crosby, ND and brother-in-law, Chet Lund of Williston, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene; and siblings, Dorothy Bickford, Mavis Hagen, Roger Lund, Ruby Benson, Noreen Lund, Beryle Henshaw, and Pearl Kvale.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9 from 5-7 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10 at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at the funeral home. This will be live-streamed and available to view at www.LundbergFuneral.com.
Interment will follow at the Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington. A luncheon will be held at the VFW (421 3rd St., Farmington.)
Active pallbearers will be Jesse Lund, Joseph Lund, Alex Weeks, Dusty Vagt, Chris Rosenthal, and Nick Skogen.
