"The Flock" birding group will be meeting Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Cannon Valley Senior Center.
Roger Everhart, wildlife biologist and photographer, will be at our gathering to talk about feeding birds in the winter and share some of his bird pictures.
Should you feed birds year-round? Bird feeding is most helpful at times when birds need the most energy, such as during temperature extremes, migration and in late winter or early spring, when natural seed sources are depleted.
Most birds don't need your help in the summer. In our cold Minnesota winters, feeding our feathered friends can make a big difference.
Join us Wednesday, to learn more about this interesting topic and enjoy the beauty of birds.
It wouldn't be the Christmas season without Christmas music.
The Cannon Valley Ensemble will be playing at Brewsters Bar and Grill Saturday, Nov. 26, at 3:30 p.m., just prior to the Deck the Falls parade. They will be performing your holiday favorites including: "Let it Snow," “Chestnuts Roasting…," "White Christmas," "Jingle Bells," "Sleigh Ride," and more.
The Cannon Valley Singers will be at Brewsters, Friday, Dec. 2, 3:30-4:30 p.m., singing carols to get you in the Christmas spirit. Hope to see you there.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Dec. 15. The senior center is sponsoring a Christmas tea, 1-2:30 p.m. We'll be serving Christmas cookies, coffee and hot cider while listening to the music of our singers and ensemble. All are welcome.
