The Covid Advisory Committee for the Cannon Falls School District announced upcoming changes for students who are currently distance learning.

The district announced plans for all students to shift to distance learning on April 15 after 25% of students in grades 9-12 were in quarantine.

On Wednesday, the district sent a letter to families explained a drop in positive cases counts will allow more in-person learning and activities to take places over the next few weeks.

From the letter:

  • Activities will start again in-person on April 29.
  • The Elementary will return to in-person learning Monday-Thursday on May 3 as they were before the move to distance learning.
  • The MS/HS learning plan will start back in hybrid on May 3. Cohort 2 will start in-person on May 3 with cohort 1 in distance learning. The week of May 10 will have cohort 1 in-person with cohort 2 in distance learning.
  • Data will be reviewed again the week of May 10 to determine if the MS/HS cohorts can be combined again through the end of the year.
