Letter to the Editor RTSA

I strongly urge our community to rally in support of one of our own, Jesse Johnson. Jesse is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 20A.

His support to the community since he retired from a decorated 20-year active duty Army career has been tremendous. Volunteering for the Cannon Valley Senior Center, post commander of the VFW, Cannon Falls Youth Athletics and supporter of our school district and much more.

He has a passion to continue to serve, as he so honorably has done his entire adult life.

He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and graduated in 1995 from Cannon Falls High School. He deployed overseas four times for a total of 46 months – a sacrifice away from his family only few can relate to.

He was promoted often from the rank of private to lieutenant colonel and earned the Bronze Star and two Air Medals as a combat helicopter pilot.

He is a proven leader, a combat veteran and a selfless servant who will do great things for our community, just as his predecessor, Rep. Barb Haley, did. Rep. Haley officially endorsed Jesse last week.

Jesse also has real-world policy experience at our nation’s capitol and the Pentagon. The only candidate with such experience. He is educated, but as blue collar as they come – down to earth and has common sense.

Please join me in showing your support by putting his signs up in your yards, volunteering for his campaign and most importantly voting between June 24 and Aug. 9.

You can volunteer or sign up for a yard sign at jesseforhouse.com or donate if you wish.

Bless Jesse for his military service BUT my problem with Jesse is that as military officer he knows how to follow or disseminate orders. He has aligned himself with the middle of the road Republican. His wife and he are both employed by Cargil what happens when a bill comes before him that his employer wants but isn't in his constituents best interests? He was sent to college to study public policy by the government which is a HUGE red flag! He's too much part of the machine to be what this area needs for representation.
